Sizzling Minerals
As farming has evolved over the last century, out of the family run land into corporate giants, so has our food. Mechanical and technological advancements allow us to grow more, grow faster and repeat all over again - speeding up mother nature's role. The problem here is that as fruits and vegetables grow, they draw nutrients from the soil. Over time, these essential minerals in the field were replenished. But with today's farming turn-around, there's no time for it to replenish. Food is grown in the soil without the nutrients our body requires.
This puts us in a position where we're being advised that 5 portions of fruits and/or veg per day is no longer sufficient, and we need 7-a-day. However, that's 7-a-day in food that is full of nutrients - so ideally organic, non-G.M.O foods grown in fields which are rotated to enable fallow years. If not altogether impossible, the expense is extreme and even then it's no guarantee you're getting enough.
